PMG contract assignments generally require that you travel to various parts of the country for extended periods of time; however, we will pay all travel and housing expenses. We also offer excellent pay, with the potential for you to earn as much in 6-8 months as you would earn in a year elsewhere. This allows you the flexibility to take time off between assignments. Tool & Die Technician – Maker, Repair, Machinist (Contractor)




Job Responsibilities


As a Tool & Die Maker, Repair Technician or Machinist, you will work for clients who make parts for defense, oil & gas, aerospace, and medical device applications. In this position, you will manufacture jigs, fixtures, dies, molds, machine tools, and cutting tools used in manufacturing processes.


Your specific duties in this role will include:



•    Troubleshooting machine tools and fixtures as well as machine dies and die components



•    Reworking tools and fixtures as needed, or machining new ones to manufacturing specs and requirements



•    Performing manual machining, including setup and operation



•    Reading blueprints, CAD drawings, and production specifications

Job Requirements


We are looking for Tool & Die Makers, Repair Technicians or Machinists with a significant amount of experience operating manual machines as well as troubleshooting and repairing dies and die components. Mold Repair Technicians and Mold Makers are welcome to apply! Additionally, we need technicians with the expertise and professionalism to perform exceptionally well and with minimal guidance in any given manufacturing situation. You must be an excellent communicator with the interpersonal skills to interact effectively with everyone from customers and top-level supervisors/managers to engineers and machinists.



Specific qualifications for the role include:



•    Minimum of 5 years of experience repairing tooling, dies and molds as well as fabricating and machining jigs, fixture and die/mold components.



•    Ability to troubleshoot machine tools, fixtures, dies and molds, perform rework as needed, or machine new components to manufacturing specs and requirements



•    Ability to perform manual machining, CNC machining or both, including setup and operation; Program editing is a plus



•    Expertise at reading and understanding blueprints, CAD drawings and production specifications



•    Welding capabilities a plus!



•    The ability to travel and commit to assignments ranging from 3 months to 1 year



•    Ability to pass an in-depth background check and drug screening



•    Ability to work 2nd and 3rd shifts, including overtime for the duration of the assignment (50+ hours per week)



•    Certificate, Associate’s Degree or Apprenticeship in Machine Tool Technologies or Tool & Die Machining, a plus!
